Outcomes

  • An informed and motivated team of school and regional coordinators who engage with Special Forever and maintain local and regional communication with project partners, teachers and community groups.
  • Teaching strategies and learning units for primary schools that will support teachers to integrate environmental education and communication curriculum outcomes with sustainable natural resource management knowledge and practices promoted by the Murray-Darling Basin Authority.
  • Professional learning programs for teachers to support them in developing teaching strategies and integrated teaching and learning units that link key curriculum areas within the context of themes relevant to the Murray-Darling Basin and natural resource management.
  • Publication of an annual collection of writing and artwork created by students participating in Special Forever.
  • A website to support and enhance the project, linking schools to the project partners, Catchment Management Authorities and other community groups and providing a showcase for student work.
  • Regional displays of students' work in a range of venues throughout the Murray-Darling Basin including: galleries, libraries, council chambers, school halls, field studies centres. Exhibition and promotion of student work in venues outside of the Murray-Darling Basin whenever possible.
