Create a Graffiti Banner for World Environment Day
This could be a class or a whole school activity. Propir to World Environment Day on 5 June discuss the importance of caring for the environment with students. Try calculating your environmental footprint using a of the web calculators
http://www.powerhousemuseum.com/education/ecologic/bigfoot/bigfoot2007/
www.footprintnetwork.org/calculator
Students can graph the results of the class and each student or each class decides on an action they will take to reduce their footprint.
These actions are then written on a graffiti banner (a 3-5 metre length of calico with a slogan such as Help the Environment written on it ) which is hung in the classroom or school hall.

You don’t need a big area just somewhere protected that gets the morning sun is best. A piece of terracotta pipe, native plants or grasses, rocks, mulch, leaf litter, a water bowl and not much more.
