Special Forever: an environmental communications project has been designed to integrate easily into a primary classroom program. It provides students with opportunities to learn about the natural resource management issues relevant to their local community, whilst attending to normal curriculum requirements. The project offers students a range of real audiences with whom to share the written, visual and multi media texts they create as a part of their learning.

The three broad themes are designed to connect closely to the National and state syllabus and curriculum documents in the Learning Areas of English, Science, Studies of Society and the Environment (HSIE, NSW), Technology Arts (Creative Arts, NSW) and Environmental Education.
